The UFC completes this Jacksonville run with UFC on ESPN 9: Overeem vs. Harris Saturday night from the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.
Since last Saturday and UFC 249, including UFC Fight Night 175 on Wednesday, the promotion has returned like a storm.
After missing out on several weeks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the promotion decided to set up shop in Jacksonville for three events over an eight-day period. All of them have been held inside the same arena without fans in attendance.
Despite that, many positives have been given to the UFC for their ability to put on live fights. They have removed a fighter who tested positive for the coronavirus, and have released many updates over concerns of spreading the virus.
Up now is a heavyweight main event featuring former title contender Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris.
Overeem is coming off a fifth round knockout loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik, but had won four of six prior to that highlighted by a majority decision win over former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum.
For Harris, this is his first fight since losing his step-daughter last year. The situation scrapped plans for a bout with Overeem, but now, he is re-focused on the task at hand.
He is also unbeaten over his last four, including finishes of Aleksei Oleinik, Sergey Spivak and Daniel Spitz.
