Jon Jones Responds to Dana White, Claims UFC President’s Lying About Demands For Francis Ngannou Fight

The bridge between Jon Jones and the UFC appears to be on fire yet again, following comments Dana White made, regarding negotiations for a fight between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou.

Jones accuses White of lying to fans

As you likely know, recently Jones dropped jaws throughout MMA by calling for a fight with Ngannou next. The heavyweight slugger said he was on board, and buzz for the bout quickly spiked.

But, several days later, Jones claimed that the UFC wasn’t willing to pay him more for the super fight, and therefore, it was a dead end. An upset Jones said he may take a break from fighting as a result, before he reported he had calmed down and that he was refocusing on his light-heavyweight title.

Well, more recently, White claimed in an interview that Jones is asking for an “absurd amount of money” to fight Ngannou. Further, White alluded to the fact the UFC isn’t making any gate revenue these days, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He also said Jones should fight either Dominick Reyes or Jan Blachowicz.

Those comments, however, didn’t get past Jones, nor did he care for them. The light-heavyweight champ tweeted out this in response.

“It’s interesting to just sit here and watch your boss lie to the camera like this. We never discussed any increase in pay. Immediately the conversation was that I already made enough. I never made a number offer.”

“If you’re not going to change my contract for the heavyweight move, at least have the decency to be honest with the fans.”

“I was over the situation, but I’m not gonna sit back and allow Dana to lie to the fans. I never asked for an absurd amount of money. That’s bullsh*t”

Could this lead to some serious issues between Jones and the UFC?

So, it will be interesting to see what comes out of this. Might Jones decide to revisit his threat to sit out for a while? Or, will he move forward with defending the 205 title against Blachowicz or Reyes?
