Rose Namajunas Exits UFC 249 After Deaths Due To Coronavirus

Brian Butler-Au, the manager for Rose Namajunas, has explained her decision to exit from UFC 249.

Namajunas was scheduled to meet Jessica Andrade in a rematch next weekend. Andrade won the UFC strawweight title from Namajunas.

“Rose Namajunas withdrew from UFC 249 due to 2 deaths in the family related to the Coronavirus,” Butler-Au wrote. “Her hopes are to return to the Octagon as soon as possible but for now we ask for people to respect their privacy during this time.

UFC 249 is scheduled for April 18 from the Tachi Palace Resorts Casino in Lemoore, California. Tony Ferguson meets Justin Gaethje for the interim UFC lightweight title.
