Hollywood actress and radical leftwing activist Jane Fonda has been arrested five times in the past year at her climate change protests. Now, the 82 year-old claims that the police officers who arrested her gave her preferential treatment because she is white. What?! She’s 82, famous, and the arrest was on video — how did she expect to be treated? She’s a nonviolent, celebrity senior citizen and race had nothing to do with it.
What Did Fonda Expect?
Fonda has spent the last few months carrying out “Fire Drill Fridays” which are weekly civil disobedience campaigns against climate change with other A-list stars like Sally Field, Joaquin Phoenix, Lily Tomlin, and Martin Sheen.
These protests have resulted in Fonda being arrested multiple times. She let on that intends to get arrested as many times as it takes to get her point across.
While she can’t deny that she has been treated with respect by the officers arresting her, she claims that this is only because she is white.
“I’m white and I’m famous and I think orders came down from the attorney general to handle me with kid gloves,” Fonda said, according to Daily Mail.

Fonda Says She Has No Regrets
Despite her alleged difficulties in jail, Fonda said she has no regrets about being arrested.
“I have chosen to put myself in this position where I lose all power because of something I believe in,” she said. “And it’s incredible.”
I can think of a lot of words to describe what Fonda is doing, but “incredible” would not be one of them.
Fonda does not seem to understand that her race has nothing to do with why her arresting officers treated her with “kid gloves.”
They treated her this way because they saw that she was nothing but a crazy old lady making a fool of herself publicly. Perhaps they were looking at her more with pity than as someone who needs to be violently corralled off to jail.
She’s Also Wearing Her Privilege
Fonda wears the red coat she bought on “sale” for $500 when she protests because of the “fire” connotation in her “Fire Drill Fridays.” The name of the protests was inspired by activist Greta Thunberg saying that people should act like their house is on fire when addressing climate change.
On one occasion, she had to use the fluffy red coat as bedding while spending the night in jail.
“There was a woman who was very cold and I loaned her my coat. But I did have to take it back – It was my mattress,” the woman who was once nicknamed “Hanoi Jane” explained. She added that she somehow managed to sleep through the screaming and sobbing of her fellow inmates.
She’s really trying to get attention with her sad-sack story.
Jane Fonda Has Been Pulling This Nonsense For Years
Of course, this kind of nonsense is nothing new for Fonda. It should be noted that she earned the nickname of Hanoi Jane when she became so engrossed in protesting against the Vietnam War. She once gleefully posed for photos sitting on a weapon that the North Vietnamese used to kill countless American soldiers.
If Fonda wants to waste her time ranting and raving like a madwoman and then rotting in a jail cell, that’s her prerogative.
What we will not stand for, however, is her attacking the brave men and women of law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day just to keep her and her fellow Americans safe. Fonda can whine about climate change all she wants to, but she needs to leave American police officers alone.
They know more about bravery and sacrifice than she ever will.
