If you’ve been one of the people calling on the UFC to run Ion Cutelaba vs. Magomed Ankalaev back, well, it looks like your Friday’s starting with some good news.

Cutelaba vs. Ankalaev 2 is reportedly planned

The light-heavyweights fought at UFC Norfolk last weekend, and not long in, Ankalaev appeared to rock Cutelaba with a kick. The latter kept firing shots, however, but he also continued to stagger around. Just as it started to become clear that Cutelaba was playing possum, the bout was stopped, and the fighter vehemently protested.

Following the fight, Cutelaba called referee Kevin MacDonald’s decision “one of the worst” in “UFC history”. He also said he planned to appeal the call. But, in the meantime, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto is reporting Cutelaba vs. Ankalaev 2 is being rebooked for UFC 249, April 18th.

So, this is welcome news right? While Cutelaba may have been dazed early on in the fight, it certainly looked like he was playing up how much he was hurt, and that he was still in the bout.
