CM Punk Offered WrestleMania Match? + Hulk Hogan Wins $110 Million

CM Punk Offered WrestleMania Match?

One of the biggest wrestling stories of the year was CM Punk joining WWE Backstage. It was the first time Punk had any association with WWE since he walked out after the 2014 Royal Rumble. While Punk does appear on WWE Backstage, he was not hired by WWE. That was FOX’s doing. There was speculation that the decision was done to keep Punk from singing with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

WrestleMania 36 is going to be a unique event due to the coronavirus. The event takes place over two days with no fans in attendance. Also, all the matches will be pre-taped. Some matches have already been nixed.

As for Punk appearing or wrestling on the card, do not count on that happening. PWInsider confirmed that Punk will not be working the event. There was talk of Seth Rollins vs. Punk, but that is not the case. At one point, Rollins publicly pushed for the match. Although, there were no discussions between WWE and Punk about competing.

Right now, WWE Backstage is on hiatus due to the coronavirus. There is no word on when WWE Backstage will return or Punk’s next appearance for the FS1 show.

Punk did mention how one superstar has been texting him repeatedly, looking for a match. He did not elaborate on who was issuing the challenge. Below are some of the recent tweets Punk sent out about WrestleMania 36. In typical Punk fashion, he did not holdback.

Hulk Hogan Wins $110 Million

Hulk Hogan has an extra $110 million to his name. According to BayNews9, a confidential settlement has been reached regarding Hogan’s sex tape. The lawsuit was against Cox Radio, Cox DJs Mike “Cowhead” Calta, Matt “Spiceboy” Loyd and other defendants.

Hogan accused the defendants of conspiring to leak his sex tape with Heather Clem. She is now the ex-wife of his former friend and radio personality Bubba “The Love Sponge” Clem. After almost four years, the matter was set for a jury trial. That was scheduled to begin in January 2021 before the agreement was reached.

In the lawsuit, it stated the tape was circulating around Cox Radio studios in early 2012. The tape was eventually leaked by Gawker. Hogan sued and won $140 million, thus putting Gawker out of business. Eventually, the National Enquirer wrote a story where Hogan was heard using several racial slurs.

The fallout saw Hogan immediately fired from WWE and blacklisted. After several years, the two got back on good terms. Hogan had to make contributions to various charities and publicly apologized to the WWE locker room. Hogan has appeared at some of the Saudi Arabia shows and also did a quick segment to open WrestleMania 35 with Alexa Bliss.

Neither Cox Radio or Hogan have commented on the settlement.
