Bellator 241 is Cancelled Due to Coronavirus Pandemic

On Thursday, it looked like Bellator 241 was still going to proceed, despite the ongoing spread of the coronavirus. But, recently Bellator President Scott Coker announced tonight’s event has been canceled.

Coker confirms the cancellation

Bellator 241 was scheduled to take place in Uncasville, Connecticut. But, due to the coronavirus pandemic, and because many jurisdictions are temporarily banning large gatherings, Bellator had decided to hold the event behind closed doors.

Since then, however, Coker tweeted out this announcement:

The health and safety of everyone involved have, and will remain, our top priority as we move forward. After carefully monitoring the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak,
@BellatorMMA
has chosen to postpone this evening’s Bellator 241 event at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

We would like to apologize to our athletes and fans, as well as our broadcast partner DAZN, but we feel this is the best decision to be made at this time.

This definitely won’t be the last MMA event to be cancelled in the coming days.
