Recently Deiveson Figueiredo said he plans to win and hold the 125 title for the remainder of his career. But, the contender’s going to have to wait before he can begin that ambitious journey.

Figueiredo has missed weight

The fighters have hit the scales in advance of UFC Norfolk tomorrow, and since Figueiredo came in at 127.5  pounds for the headliner, he is ineligible to win the vacant flyweight crown. The man who will face him in the bout, Joseph Benavidez, can win the belt, as he came in at 124.5 for the fight.

Suffice to say, it’s a pretty big setback for Figueiredo.
