UFC 247: Dominick Reyes Shares Pics of Punished Legs, Following Controversial Loss to Jon Jones

Dominick Reyes landed some big shots on Jon Jones at UFC 247, but the light-heavyweight contender also took some punishment during their thrilling war. Case in point, recently the rising star posted some pictures the damage his legs took, courtesy Jones’ kicks.

Reyes posts pics of battered legs

“The Devastator” appeared to outscore Jones in the first three rounds of their bout, but the champ landed more often in rounds four and five and also planted some takedowns. Although many people scored the bout 3-2 rounds for Reyes, Jones was handed the decision win by the judges.

Well, more recently Reyes shared out the images below, as well as an update on his condition.

Hey Everyone! I’m doin good, thanks for the tremendous support. MRI came back negative, but have some bruising from blunt force trauma. #peopleschamp #pricewepay

Jones – Reyes II?

So, the good news is that Reyes isn’t seriously injured, and that could leave the door open to a rematch with Jones. “Bones'” longtime striking coach, Mike Winkeljohn, recently said he thinks a rematch is a real possibility. While talking to MMA Fighting he said this:

“There’s no doubt about that,” Winkeljohn said. “Jon likes rematches. Jon is a student of the game. We would all put our heads together, but at the end of the day, Jon sits down and says, ‘This wasn’t good, this is what he can do,’ and he’ll be even more motivated. Just like [Alexander] Gustafsson where you saw his performance was totally different.

“It’s not that he took anybody light, but he’s just so smart at making those small adjustments that are needed. Us as a team, we’ll try to help out as well.”

The defeat at UFC 247 marked the first time in Reyes’ career that he’s lost. The 30-year-old has gone 6-1 to date in the UFC and he currently carries a record of 12-1.
