Special Re-Airing Of Tito Ortiz-Alberto El Patron Event Friday

A special re-airing of Tito Ortiz vs. Alberto El Patron will take place this Friday on AXS TV and Fight Network. The first-ever Combate Americas pay-per-view will be the start to four Friday nights of MMA action in February by the promotion.

The event will air at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

The historic card was headlined the highly-anticipated fight between MMA trailblazer Tito Ortiz and multiple-time WWE Heavyweight Champion Alberto “El Patrón” Rodriguez (formerly “Alberto Del Rio of the WWE), plus Combate Americas’ inaugural Women’s World Strawweight Championship fight between undefeated knockout artist Melissa “Super Mely” Martinez vs. fellow fast-rising star Desiree “Dirty Dez” Yanez rounding out the 10-fight special.

Immediately following the Tito vs. Alberto special on Feb. 7, AXS TV and FN will premiere a Fight Network original documentary Diary: Tito vs. Alberto at 1 a.m. ET/10 p.m. PT, taking viewers inside the minds of Ortiz and El Patrón on the day leading up to and immediately following their historic 210-pound catchweight clash.

AXS TV Fights will also present a first-look at the Diary at 9:35 p.m. ET leading up to the special here.

Then, don’t miss Combate’s annual international tournament the 2019 “COPA COMBATE” from Lima, Peru, premiering in a three-hour special on Friday, Feb. 14 at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT.

The one-night, eight-man, $100,000 grand prize lightweight (155 pounds) tournament includes former Combate Lightweight Title Challenger Erick Gonzalez, UFC veteran Humberto Bandenay, Mexico’s Jose Luis Verdugo, Peru’s Milko Tucto, Colombia’s Hugo Hernando Prada, America’s Salvador Becerra, Argentina’s Lucas Corbage and Spain’s Yoel Jiminez.

For its first live event of 2020, Combate heads back to Mexicali, B.C., Mexico on Friday, Feb. 21 live on AXS TV and FN at 10 p.m. PT/7 p.m. PT, headlined by a world lightweight championship showdown between undefeated champion Rafa “Gifted” Garcia and 2019 “COPA COMBATE” tournament winner and number one contender, Humberto Bandenay. The nine-fight card also features a women’s strawweight co-main event between undefeated Yasmine Jauregui and rising star Karen Cedillo.

Finishing the month, Combate presents a new installment of its popular “Mexico vs. USA” themed events on Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT live from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. Combate Americas: Mexico vs. USA pits four American fighters vs. four Mexican fighters, headlined by a lightweight fight between Adrian Guzman of Fresno vs. Pablo Sabori of Tijuana.
