Ozzy Osbourne Announces Devastating Diagnosis On Good Morning America

Ozzy Osbourne shocked fans by announcing that he has Parkinson’s Disease in an exclusive interview with Robin Roberts for “Good Morning America”. The Prince of Darkness received the devastating diagnosis last February, the same month he had a nasty and debilitating fall. Now, Ozzy and his famously sassy wife Sharon Osbourne are opening up about life with Parkinson’s.

Osbourne’s Parkinson’s Treatment

The Osbournes are working together as a family to deal with this neurodegenerative disorder that has no cure. After getting treatment in the United States, they will be traveling to Sweden in April to meet with a specialist who will work towards building up 71-year-old Ozzy’s immune system.

“It’s PRKN 2,” 67-year-old Sharon Osbourne said in the interview. “There’s so many different types of Parkinson’s; it’s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body. And it’s — it’s like you have a good day, a good day, and then a really bad day.”

Ozzy has been relying on his family for the past year and that is a hard thing to do for someone with his background. He has been the one supporting them.

Now he has to allow them to take care of him.

“Coming from a working class background, I hate to let people down. I hate to not do my job,” Ozzy said. “And so when I see my wife goin’ to work, my kids goin’ to work, everybody’s doing — tryin’ to be helpful to me, that gets me down because I can’t contribute to my family, you know.”

Ozzy’s New Single, “Ordinary Man”

Ozzy didn’t want to hide his diagnosis from his fans. He missed them during his absence as he was getting treatment and recovering.

The former lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath needs fan support as he faces this battle of a lifetime. Ozzy won’t allow his diagnosis to defeat his drive to entertain and continue making music.

As proof, the legendary rocker recently released “Ordinary Man,” his first single in over a decade.

“They’re my air, you know,” the Prince of Darkness said about his fans. “I feel better. I’ve owned up to the fact that I have — a case of Parkinson’s. And I just hope they hang on and they’re there for me because I need them.”

“I wanna see my people, you know. It’s like I’m — I miss them so much,” he continued
