Prosecutors Accuse Lori Loughlin And Mossimo Giannulli Of Withholding Evidence In College Admissions Scandal

Lori Loughlin, the former “Fuller House” actress who is facing 45 years in prison for her role in the college admissions scandal, finds herself in hot water again this week after prosecutors accused her and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, of withholding evidence from the government.

Prosecutors Go After Lori Loughlin For Withholding Evidence

According to Fox News, prosecutors filed a joint interim report on January 10 calling on all parents involved in the case to turn over every piece of discovery evidence ahead of a conference hearing in Boston federal court. However, court documents state that so far only two parents, William McGlashan and Robert Zangrillo, have turned over their discovery evidence.

“The Defendants believe that it is premature to do so at this time,” the latest court filing states. “The Government disagrees with the Defendants’ assertion that it is ‘premature’ to provide their own discovery.”

“The Defendants have now had approximately eight months to review the Government’s discovery, confer with their clients, and strategize regarding potential defenses,” the filing continues. “It is not premature to provide discovery, which they can later supplement, to the Government as required by the rules.”

Loughlin And Giannulli Make Request Of Prosecutors

This comes one month after Lori Loughlin and Giannulli accused the prosecution of withholding evidence. Last month, the couple requested access to FBI interview statements from college admission scandal mastermind William “Rick” Singer. The couple contends the statements will prove their innocence.

The couple is accused of paying $500,000 in bribe money to have their two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had rowed before.

However, Loughlin and Giannulli maintain the evidence will show that they were under the impression that this money was a charitable donation to the school, rather than bribe money.

Prosecutors refused the couple’s request for access, deeming the interview statements as irrelevant and immaterial. This is reportedly why Loughlin and Giannulli retaliated by withholding their discovery evidence.

Loughlin And Giannulli Should Take Responsibility

Unlike other parents involved in the college admissions scandal, like former “Desperate Housewives” star Felicity Huffman, Loughlin and husband Giannulli pled not guilty to all charges against them.

Lori Loughlin withholding evidence is just another way that she and Giannulli are being uncooperative with prosecutors. And which could result in them spending even more time behind bars.

Had Loughlin and Giannulli just accepted responsibility for their actions from the start, they likely would have been given brief prison sentences that would have been completed by now. And allowed them to move on with their lives.

Instead, the two continue poking the proverbial bear, in this case federal prosecutors, and which will likely bite them in the end.

His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
