Justin Bieber reckless love

The entertainment world seems to be more secular than ever these days, so it’s rare to see a young celebrity have the courage to give credit to God or Jesus Christ. That’s why it came as such a welcome surprise when singer Justin Bieber recently did just that!

It’s no secret that many child stars struggle with fame, and end up succumbing to the temptations of drugs and alcohol. As someone who became famous at the young age of 13, this easily could have happened to Bieber. In a candid Instagram note to his followers, he credited Jesus Christ for helping him not go down the wrong path permanently.

Bieber Went Through A Difficult Time As A Child Star

Christian Post reported that Bieber explained to his 118 million followers that as a famous teenager, he had “access to whatever I wanted.”

“As my talent progressed and I became ultra successful, it happened within a strand of two years. My whole world flipped on its head,” he wrote. “I went from a 13-year-old boy from a small town to being praised left and right by the world with millions saying much they loved me and how great I was.”

Though many people crave fame, Bieber soon learned that there is a dark side to celebrity. And he realized it was actually inhibiting his personal growth.

“Everyone did everything for me, so I never even learned the fundamentals of responsibility,” he explained. “By this point, I was 18 with no skills in the real world, with millions of dollars and access to whatever I wanted.”

“This is a very scary concept for anyone,” he continued. “By 20, I made every bad decision you could have thought of and went from one of the most loved and adored people in the world to the most ridiculed, judged, and hated person in the world.”

It wasn’t long before the pop star found himself “doing pretty heavy drugs.”

“I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry,” Bieber said. Also adding that he also grew more distant from his loved ones.

“You see, I have a lot of money, clothes, cars, accolades, achievements, awards, and I was still unfulfilled,” he remembered. “It’s taken me years to bounce back from all of these terrible decisions, fix broken relationships, and change relationship habits.”

Justin Bieber Finds God

In Bieber’s darkest hour, it was God who was there for him.

“Luckily, God blessed me with extraordinary people who love me for me,” Bieber wrote. Adding that one of the blessings God brought him has been his marriage to Hailey Baldwin.

“Now I am navigating the best season of my life ‘MARRIAGE’ !! Which is an amazing, crazy, new responsibility,” he said. “You learn patience, trust, commitment, kindness, humility, and all of the things it looks like to be a good man.”

While it may come as a surprise, Hillsong megachurch is reportedly where Bieber and his wife Hailey Baldwin laid the foundation for their relationship. What a refreshing example! A famous couple who came together at church – not on the latest dating app.

“All this to say even when the odds are against you, keep fighting. Jesus loves you,” Bieber concluded. “Be kind today, be bold today and love people today, not by your standards but by God’s perfect unfailing love.”

Now Bieber Wants To ‘Live Like Jesus’

This isn’t the first time Bieber has opened up about his faith.

A few years ago, he revealed that his ultimate goal in life is to “live like Jesus.”

“Not be Jesus-I could never-I don’t want that to come across weird. He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind. If you believe it, he died for our sins. Sometimes when I don’t feel like doing something, but I know it’s right, I remember, I’m pretty sure Jesus didn’t feel like going to the cross and dying so that we don’t have to feel what we should have to feel … We have the greatest healer of all and his name is Jesus Christ. And he really heals. This is it. It’s time that we all share our voice. Whatever you believe. Share it. I’m at a point where I’m not going to hold this in.”

It’s nice to see that such a young superstar like Bieber has a good head on his shoulders.

With megastars like Kanye West and Justin Bieber proclaiming their faith, maybe we could see a positive trend develop. Our youth turning to and rooting their lives and culture in faith. It’s almost enough to spark hope.

We sincerely hope Justin Bieber continues to follow Christ and share his faith for years to come!
