Failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton just expressed her support for Meghan Markle. The former actress left the British royal family with her husband Prince Harry.

Yahoo News reported that Hillary took to Instagram last week to share a quote from Meghan which she gave at the first annual Royal Foundation Forum.

“Women don’t need to find a voice. They have a voice,” Meghan said in the quote. “They need to feel empowered to use it, and people need to be encouraged to listen.”

Hillary Visited Meghan Two Months Ago

Hillary visited Meghan at Frogmore Cottage in November. A source told People Magazine that the two women were “equally excited” to meet one another, and that there was “lots of chatter about newborns and feeding schedules.”

Prior to marrying Harry, Meghan was a leftwing Hollywood star who was outspoken about her support for Hillary and other Democrats. Months before the 2016 presidential election, Meghan slammed Donald Trump and expressed her support for Hillary in an interview with Larry Wilmore.

“Yes, of course, Trump is divisive, think about female voters alone, right? I think it was in 2012 the Republican Party lost the female vote by 12 points; that is a huge number and with as misogynistic as Trump is, and so vocal about it, that is a huge chunk of it,” Meghan said. “You’re not just voting for a woman if it’s Hillary because she’s a woman, but certainly because Trump has made it easy to see that you don’t really want that kind of world that he’s painting.”

Meghan’s unapologetic attitude about her liberal views created some problems for the royal family. British royals are supposed to remain politically neutral at all times. It has been speculated that a desire to be open about her leftwing politics is part of what caused Meghan to want to leave the royal family altogether.

When Trump visited the United Kingdom last year, Meghan refused to meet with him. She claimed she had to stay home to nurse her newborn son Archie. However, insiders explained that she was really just using her son as an excuse to snub Trump.

“I’m told that there are no plans for Meghan to meet President Trump,” royal expert Dustin Larcombe said before the visit. “Not as a snub because – how shall we say – it’s a quite convenient period of maternity leave so she won’t be working. The fact she’s on maternity leave obviously gives her an excuse.”

It’s a shame that Meghan is so adamant about her liberal views that she has allowed them to sour Harry’s relationship with his family. We would hope that she could learn to put her leftwing views aside for the greater good one day, but it does not seem that this will ever happen. As President Trump would say, SAD!
