Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team have been featured in several, “Anatomy of a Fighter” videos to date, and they are again, in the latest doc from the outlet.
As you’ll see by watching the video below, Khabib and members of his team, including striking coach Javier Mendez, headed to Uzbekistan recently to attend a Gorilla Fighting Championship card. Former UFC champ Frank Mir was also on hand, as was boxing legend, Roy Jones Jr.
Umar Nurmagomedov, who was documented recording a submission win at GFC 20 in the video, is the 23-year-old cousin of Khabib. With that victory, the bantamweight moved his overall record to 12-0. So, if you follow prospects, definitely keep your eye on Umar. He’s already competed under the Professional Fighters League banner twice, and has scored two, decision victories.
