Climate change activists want us to dramatically alter our lifestyles. Now, some activists are taking aim at a festive and beloved tradition – Christmas sweaters.
The perpetual alarmists have been setting and changing deadlines for the end of times for decades. Their predictions never happen so they keep moving the goal posts. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal would break the bank and change how we live.
But, with this latest advance to take our Christmas sweaters, they may have taken things too far. It completely highlights the ridiculousness of the extremist movement. RELATED: Video: John Stossel Debunks Climate Change Myths Using Science
Christmas sweaters are a fun way to show off holiday spirit. Sometimes they are tasteful and other times they are downright ugly. Whatever they look like, many of us love them and will not relinquish them for the “cause du jour.”
From RedState:
An anti-global warming group in the UK is taking on that dastardly destructive holiday horror know as the ugly Christmas sweater.
According to environmental charity Hubbub, those sweaters you wear to yuletide shindigs routinely consist of plastic and metallic fibers.
And that’s killing the people in the Pacific.
As per CNN, Hubbub bought 108 sweaters from chain stores and online retailers. Their analysis: 95% “were fully or partially made from plastic materials.”
So way to go murdering the fish, you jubilant jerks.
Hubbub found that 44% of the Christmas sweaters purchased were made entirely from acrylic while at least 75% of them contained at least some acrylic. Acrylic is made from plastic, hence why it is being targeted by the global warming/cooling crowd.
Hubbub wants to guilt you into give giving up your Christmas sweaters for more environmentally friendly items saying they are more “likely to add to the issue of plastic pollution in our oceans.”
Nobody is exempt from this most recent outrage. Even dogs wear Christmas sweaters as this tweet below shows. RELATED: Emma Thompson Says People Will Eat Their Own Pets Due To ‘Climate Change’
Many sweaters are made from acrylic but the holiday wear is being specifically targeted by these extremists. It is also alarming to them that these Christmas sweaters are likely only to be worn once a year. They view this as being a wasteful use of resources.
“Fast fashion is a major threat to the natural world and Christmas jumpers are particularly problematic as so many contain plastic,” project co-ordinator at Hubbub Sarah Divall said.
And, what Christmas-hater was responsible for this blasphemy? As you can see in the image below, Santa is shown with cocaine. Below that are the words “Let it snow.”
The product description was even more blatant:
“We all know how snow works. It’s white, powdery and the best snow comes straight from South America. That’s bad news for jolly old St. Nick, who lives far away in the North Pole. That’s why Santa really likes to savor the moment when he gets his hands on some quality, grade A, Colombian snow.”
Thankfully Wal-Mart had the sense to remove them. But, that’s the kind of thing that happens when you take the Christ out of Christmas.
