Blake Shelton Explains How Gwen Stefani Led Him To Believe In God

Blake Shelton says his relationship with Gwen Stefani has helped him believe in God. The couple has been together since 2015 when both of them were coming out of public divorces. The country singer says the timing and dynamic of everything points to the fact that God brought them together.

Shelton believes there is no other way to explain how things worked out except though his faith. His relationship with Gwen has renewed his belief in God.

“I believe in God now more than I ever have in my life,” Shelton said.

Gwen’s faith rubbed off on her beau. Gwen and Blake and her three children regularly attend her church. Shelton says his relationship with Stefani has helped him “turn a page” in his life. He now is able to focus on more important things. RELATED: Gwen Stefani Reveals Blake Shelton’s Bond With Her Sons Touched Her Heart

“I believe in God now more than I ever have in my life,” Shelton told The Tennessean. “The biggest part of that is just how (Gwen) came into my life and now our relationship. It’s just too weird. If you take God out of it, it doesn’t make sense. If you put God into it, everything that’s happened with us makes sense.”

This is the reason why Shelton has been recording some Christian-themed songs. Earlier this year, he released “God’s Country.” It was one of the fastest songs he ever had to top country charts. And, it’s the highest streaming song of his career. It’s an important song because it combines his re-energized faith and his love of the land.

God’s Country

His producer sent him several songs to listen to, including “God’s Country.” He was clearing brush on his property when he first heard it. Immediately, he knew he needed to record it. RELATED: Blake Shelton Stops His Concert To Help A Marine Propose To His Girlfriend

“It was the most shocking moment I’ve had in my 20 years of doing this,” Shelton stated “I was in a place that I consider to be God’s country doing the thing that makes me feel the most connected to God, which is working on the land. I heard that song, and I had one of those moments that you hear people talk about … where they say they pulled over on the side of the highway and listened. I literally had that moment.”

Given that they are both musician, Gwen and Blake have teamed up on some recordings. Last year, this couple released a Christmas song together. “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” is in the video below.
