UFC Moscow: Danny Roberts Bombs Out Zelim Imadaev

Danny Roberts jumped off the chopping block today at UFC Moscow, by knocking out Zelim Imadaev with a crushing shot in round two.

Round one

Roberts changed levels not long into round one and pushed Imadaev to the cage. The two exchanged knees in the clinch before the fight returned to the center of the Octagon. In an ensuing exchange, Imadaev just missed with a flying knee and Robers scored with a takedown moments later. Imadaev got back to his feet but ate a big elbow. Roberts planted a nice leg kick before the round ended, and took Imadaev down, but the latter reversed positions.

Round two

Roberts came with a takedown early into round two, but Imadaev reversed it nicely and took the top position. The fight returned to its feet and after a few more exchanges, Roberts clinched up. The latter fired in some knees but Imadaev briefly took the fight down. Shortly before round two ended, Roberts landed a crushing left hook that sent Imadaev to the deck, face first. The latter was coming off back-to-back losses to Claudio Henrique da Silva and Michel Pereira heading into today.
