UFC 244: Jorge Masvidal Lights up Conor McGregor, Warns He’ll Hurt “That Little Guy”

As is it stands right now, it looks like the paths of Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor are not going to cross in the Octagon anytime too soon. In fact, according to “Gamebred”, a big reason for that’s because McGregor really doesn’t want to throw hands with the ‘BMF’ titleholder.

Masvidal’s previous calls for a fight with McGregor

Before Masvidal was booked to fight Nate Diaz last night at UFC 244, the welterweight was pushing for a title shot or a bout with McGregor. Masvidal was knocking on the title shot door after viciously, knocking out Ben Askren in just five seconds at UFC 239 in July.

But, when Masvidal started calling for a bout with McGregor, Dana White said he wasn’t interested. White cited the size difference between the two as to why he didn’t want to make the bout. More recently, however, White said the winner of Masvidal – Diaz might be in the mix for McGregor’s next opponent.

Masvidal trashes McGregor at the post-fight presser

Well, after Masvidal’s TKO win over Diaz last night (due to a doctor stoppage), of course, McGregor was brought up. Here’s some of what “Gamebred” had to say about the controversial star and the possibility of fighting McGregor (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“Some of you motherf*ckers are mean because you know what the f*ck I’ll do to that little dude,” Masvidal said. “I’ll f*ck that little guy up. He’s a f*cking midget. Dana White, president of this motherf*cking company said I’m too much man for him. I get it why people want to see him hurt for the stunts he’s been pulling, but he don’t want this sh*t.

“He’s just talking so he can get his name out there. He was cheering for Nate. He wanted to run it back with Nate.”

“He don’t want this sh*t. You know he doesn’t want this sh*t. Dana and them might try to promote it, (but) I don’t even think Dana is going to promote that fight, because you can’t get that guy to sign a paper.”

Would McGregor truly be scared to fight Masvidal? Seems unlikely. After all, when White initially said Masvidal was too big for McGregor, the latter apparently called the UFC President to object to his comments.

But, as noted above, the chances of this fight happening anytime soon seem slim. Recently White confirmed that the UFC is working on booking a bout between Donald Cerrone and McGregor. Masvidal will likely fight for the 170 title next, if a rematch with Diaz doesn’t happen.
