Recently Conor McGregor said he’ll be fighting on the UFC’s upcoming January 18th show, and it’s been reported Donald Cerrone is the front-runner for his opponent. But, as November winds down, the UFC’s current schedule isn’t showing any event for that date.

Cerrone vs. McGregor?

There’s been endless talk about when and who McGregor will face in his Octagon return over the preceding months. But, with December right around the corner, no fight’s been announced. Dana White has confirmed that the UFC was looking at having McGregor fight Cerrone, but he also said no deal was even close to make that happen.

UFC’s current schedule

Well, recently Ryan Harkness from MMA Mania pointed out that the UFC’s current schedule isn’t even showing a card for January 18th. In addition, the schedule lists the UFC’s February 8th card in Houston as UFC 246. UFC 245 is taking place on December 14th. So, if McGregor was going to fight on January 18th, it would definitely be a pay-per-view card.

Now, of course, all this could change if the UFC was able to sign Cerrone vs. McGregor. But, when you consider we’re a couple of days away from December, as well as the info above, it’s not looking like we’ll see McGregor fighting in January.
