Toby Keith Praises Trump And American Flag in new Fox interview with Chris Wallace

These days, it’s rare to see a public figure in the entertainment industry speak out to praise America and President Donald Trump. That’s what made it so refreshing when country music star Toby Keith did just that in a recent interview!

Toby Keith Attacked For His Patriotism

While talking to Fox News, Keith opened up about his song “Courtesy of the Red White and Blue,” which he wrote in just 20 minutes right after the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Keith first played the song for a group of Marines who were being deployed to Afghanistan, and while they loved it, the singer soon drew backlash for the song’s patriotic themes. This shocked Keith, who said that he should be able to freely express the love he has for his country.

“John Wayne and Johnny Cash sang about the flag,” he said. “Now I can’t — send these kids off to war and want them to come back home and do a good job? And right there I went, ‘I’m going to be that guy.’”

Since then, Keith has made patriotism a cornerstone of his musical performances, and it has paid off for him in a big way.

In fact, the 58 year-old told Fox News host Chris Wallace that he has made over half a billion dollars throughout his career, and he’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Toby Keith Defends Performing At Trump Inauguration

Keith also defended his decision to perform at Trump’s inauguration in 2017. Needless to say, this decision caused Keith to face some serious backlash from “offended” liberals, but it was all worth it for him.

“Going to a president’s inauguration, no matter who it is, that’s what you’re supposed to do,” he said. “It’s an honor to make history and get to do that.”

Keith went on to say that though American music tastes have undergone some major changes since he was at his peak, he has no intention to change his style.

Instead, the “How Do You Like Me Now” singer intends to always stay loyal to the principles that made him successful in the first place.

“I’m in a new world but I’m going to outwork you,” Keith said. “It’s more of a hip-hop country. I hope the kids make a half a billion [dollars and] end up on Forbes. I made mine, but I’m not going to write that stuff.”

Supporting Trump And America Now Considered “Offensive” By Left

Twenty years ago, it would have been insane to hear that a singer was getting backlash just for performing patriotic songs and for agreeing to sing at a presidential inauguration.

Sadly, we now live in a world where angry liberals have dubbed anything that is pro-America or pro-Trump to be “offensive.”

Just to stick to those who decry patriotism, have a listen to Toby Keith singing “Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American)”:

We applaud Keith for bravely sticking to his guns, even in the face of backlash from leftists.

Hopefully, he will keep performing his patriotic hits for many years to come!
