Heartbreaking: Marie Osmond Questioned Her Sexuality After Suffering Years of Abuse

Marie Osmond shocked her fans on Monday when she revealed on “The Talk” that she suffered years of sexual abuse as a child during a segment about Miley Cyrus. Adding that the childhood trauma led to body image issues and Osmond thinking she was gay.

Fox News reported that Osmond made this bombshell revelation while cohosting the CBS talk show “The Talk”.

Osmond and her fellow cohosts were discussing recent comments from singer Miley Cyrus. The “Party In The USA” singer recently broadcast her lukewarm feelings towards men following the split from husband Liam Hemsworth.

That’s when the 60-year-old former “Donny & Marie” star revealed that she could relate to how the young woman is feeling.

Marie Osmond Opens Up About Abuse On “The Talk”

“When I was about eight or nine, I actually thought I was gay,” said Osmond. “The reason is because I had been sexually abused to the point that men made me sick. I didn’t trust them, I didn’t like them.”

Osmond went on to describe having serious body image issues and to recall constantly looking at the bodies of other women.

“I was looking at women and I thought ‘why am I looking at women? I must be gay.’ And then I realized — because I’m a thinker — why did God give me all these great brothers and why did He give me this amazing father?” Osmond explained.

“And truly, that changed my opinion of men, which made me feel that it was something that I was going through.”

Miley Cyrus’ Controversial Comments About Men

Pop star Miley Cyrus, 26, made her controversial comments about men in an Instagram Live video on Sunday night.

“You don’t have to be gay, there are good people with d–ks out there — you’ve just got to find them,” Cyrus said. “You’ve got to find a d–k that’s not a d–k, you know.”

“I always thought I had to be gay because I thought all guys were evil, but it’s not true,” added Cyrus, who is now dating singer Cody Simpson.

Fan Support For Osmond

Since Osmond made her revelation, support has been pouring in for her on social media from her fans.

We applaud Osmond for having the strength to go public on “The Talk” with something so painful and private. Hopefully, her honesty and openness will give other women who have been through similar situations the strength to move forward in life.

God bless you, Marie Osmond.

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
