UFC Fight Night 160 Saturday, Jack Hermansson-Jared Cannonier Headline

Middleweights Jack Hermansson and Jared Cannonier will get their chance to prove their worth in the division when they headline UFC Fight Night 160 this coming Saturday.

The event takes place from the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark, marking the first visit to Copenhagen and to Denmark for the UFC.

Hermansson, a native of Sweden, has quietly put together a four-fight win streak that was highlighted by an April decision victory over former Strikeforce champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

His opponent, Cannonier, has rebounded from back-to-back loses to finish David Branch and score a career-defying victory over Anderson Silva at UFC 237 this past May. When you factor in the named fighters that Hermansson and Cannonier have both defeated over their respective Octagon careers, with Anderson Silva and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza sitting there at the top of the lists for both, it is easy to see why the UFC paired these two up.

For the winner Saturday night from Denmark, should come a top contender match. The loser, meanwhile, will need to work his way back up while surviving the vaunted middleweight division.
