UFC Copenhagen: Jared Cannonier Continues to Make Noise at 185, Puts Away Jack Hermansson

Jared Cannonier continues to roll in the middleweight division, as the heavy, heavy handed-fighter put away Jack Hermansson today at UFC Copenhagen.

Round one

Hermansson came charging out, firing kicks, and then went for a takedown. Cannonier defended well, however, and the fight returned to the center of the cage. Moments later, Hermansson shot in again, and after Cannonier defended he scored with a suplex. Cannonier worked his way up and out and planted an uppercut. Hermansson landed a couple of calf kicks, went for a TD, but Cannonier defended. The latter started firing in leg kicks of his own. Hermansson continued to throw kicks of  his own, but before the round ended, Cannonier landed another hard kick of his own.

Round two

Moments into round two, Hermansson shot in but Cannonier countered with a thumping right uppercut that sent “The Joker” to the floor. After Cannonier pounded away with punches from above for several seconds, the fight was called. Huge, huge win for Cannonier.

Cannonier has now won three in a row since moving down from light-heavyweight, and that includes a win over Anderson Silva.
