Kristin Cavallari, Reality TV Star and Wife of Jay Cutler, Under Fire For ‘Insensitive’ 9/11 Tribute

Kristin Cavallari, a reality television star who is married to NFL player Jay Cutler, found herself in hot water today. The former “Laguna Beach” star is under fire for a 9/11 tribute post that the American public found extremely “insensitive”.

Kristin Cavallari Disrespects 9/11

Fox News reported that Cavallari posted a photo of herself on Instagram that shows her posing on a New York City sidewalk in a plunging black dress. The controversial photo was posted on the morning of the 18th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Cavallari tagged many famous fashion designers in the image. Those tagged include her own brand Uncommon James as well as her makeup artist Robert Sesnek and stylist Owen Gould.

Cavallari, 32, originally captioned the photo “NYC for 24hrs. And what a time to be here..always remember,” before changing it as she started to receive backlash.

Social media users were quick to slam Cavallari for the disrespectful photo.

“This is super insensitive,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “Maybe today isn’t the day to market your brand or yourself.. in NYC. #disappointed.”

“Let me show off my body and then make a half-ass remark about 911. WTF,” a third user commented, with a fourth writing, “Wrong picture for the sentiment in the post.”

Kristin Cavallari Fires Social Media Manager

Cavallari reportedly responded by firing her social media manager who she claims posted the photo. When asked if that social media manager was terminated, a representative for Cavallari simply responded, “Yes that’s correct.”

Cavallari previously told Page Six that she hates firing people.

“There’s nothing comfortable about firing somebody,” Cavallari said back in March. “I just fired my first person not that long ago and I honestly felt like I was going to throw up.I hate doing it. I haven’t had to do it that much — let’s just clear that up. But I have had to do a couple and it’s awful. It’s extremely difficult and I really want no part of it.”

Unsurprising Behavior From A Millenial

Unfortunately, this kind of self-absorbed and disrespectful behavior from millennials is nothing new. These days, young people are far more focused on posting selfies and branding themselves online than they are about paying tribute to the victims of such a devastating event as 9/11. Cavallari needs to do a whole lot more than just fire her social media manager to make this right. We would like to see her publicly apologize and then make a donation to the victims of the September 11 attacks. It would be nice to see Cavallari lead by example and show her other young fans that this kind of disrespect towards 9/11 will not be tolerated.
