Khabib

Ali Abdelaziz does not believe Khabib Nurmagomedov will defend his UFC lightweight championship against top contender Tony Ferguson or former champion Conor McGregor next.

Instead, Abdelaziz sees Nurmagomedov vs. Georges St-Pierre taking place because it would be the biggest fight possible.

UFC president Dana White stated that Ferguson has the next crack at taking the zero away from Nurmagomedov if he wants it, and McGregor has thrown his name in the hat for a rematch, even volunteering to fight him in Moscow, Russia.

Khabib’s Manager Gunning For Georges St-Pierre

“Nobody really cares what Tony says,” Abdelaziz told TMZ Sports recently. “Nobody gives a (expletive) really. As far as I know, GSP is next; that is what I want. Tony doesn’t get what he wants, we get what Khabib wants, and if Khabib calls me and says he wants Georges St-Pierre, Georges St-Pierre will be next.

“I think (Nurmagomedov) and Georges St-Pierre make a lot more money and more headlines. People will care more. It’s a fight for who is the greatest of all time.”

That is why Abdelaziz believes White will be interested and able to get St-Pierre to the contract table. He is a former welterweight and middleweight champion, but has never fought as low as lightweight.
