Joe Rogan Blasts Cris “Cyborg’s” Team For Altering Video of Talk With Dana White

Cris “Cyborg” has apologized for the altered video her team posted of her confronting Dana White backstage at UFC 240, and recently Joe Rogan blasted her crew for what transpired.

Following “Cyborg’s” win over Felicia Spencer last month, her team shared out a video of her confronting backstage at the event. During the exchange, “Cyborg” told White to “stop lying” about her wish to rematch Amanda Nunes. The video’s subtitles claimed White stating that he isn’t always telling the truth when he speaks publicly, and clip also ended, while the two appeared to still be talking.

Rogan blasts “Cyborg’s” team over the video

Well, closer inspection revealed that White did not say anything about not telling the truth, and “Cyborg” ended up issuing an apology.  During a recent episode of Rogan’s podcast, while talking to Brendan Schaub, he had this to say about “Cyborg’s” team (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“They f*cked up. Cyborg’s team,” Rogan said. “Whoever did it, whether it’s her boyfriend or whoever it was that edited that video, that lied and put words in his mouth, is so f*cking stupid.

“You don’t think that they’re going to do something about that? You’re out of your goddamn mind. When they edited that video to say that “whenever I’m talking in public I’m not telling the truth,” which is not what he said at all, and then to have it edited and cut right there…”

Even if you’ve sided with “Cyborg”, in terms of her various issues with White and the UFC over the years, it’s hard to argue with Rogan here. After all, we’re talking about a massive company and White is one of its most visible figures. Clearly they weren’t going to just let the altered video stand without a fight. Schaub also reportedly, and rightfully noted that White would have known he’s being filmed, and that he wouldn’t have said anything that made him look bad.

Rogan also reportedly stated that he did apologize to “Cyborg” over crude comments he made about the Brazilian star several year ago, and that he did so, one-on-one. According to Rogan, he told “Cyborg” back then that he hoped she had a successful run in the UFC. Schaub, meanwhile, stated this:

“I like Cyborg, a nice person,” Schaub said. “And I don’t think Cyborg’s a bad person. I think her management and the way they’ve handled things have completely f*cked her. I think her going to battle with the UFC was the worst thing and it’s not her.”

There you have it. All this aside,  we still don’t know where “Cyborg” will end up fighting, now that she’s left the UFC. One would think we’ll have some news on that front, relatively soon.
