Brock Lesnar Wants Jon Jones + Superstars Want Queen Of The Ring

Brock Lesnar Wants Jon Jones

-Despite being under contract with WWE, and effectively being retired from UFC…The Beast wants what The Beast wants.

And, apparently, The Beast wants Jon Jones.

Kurt Angle said as much during a bit on ESPN. There is no doubt that such a big name fight would draw tons of eyeballs…there’s just that contractual issue to navigate. Keep in mind that Lesnar has fought for UFC while under WWE contract before. He also showed up at a UFC event and stepped into the Octagon for a confrontation too-also while under WWE contract.

The point? Never say never, especially with Vince McMahon.

For his part, Jon Jones did respond to the interest with a Tweet:

If there is mutual interest from both sides (and, more important, money to be made), such a bout wouldn’t surprise anyone. If this doesn’t happen, we could always turn our hopes to a Cormier match with Lesnar, perhaps?

Superstar Wants Queen Of The Ring

-In something that should surprise no one, a WWE Superstar has gone on the record as saying she hopes the company comes out with a Queen of the Ring tournament. In this day and age, it’s kind of shocking that the company did not have one alongside the men’s tournament…or at least announce plans for a women’s variant to run at a later date (to allow each to not have to share the spotlight?).

SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley said as much during an appearance on KSFY’s morning show.

“When you’re a fan like me who has watched for years, it was something that was taken away,” said Bayley. “It was like, ‘Dang. That was one of the coolest shows.’ There’s so much pressure on all the guys. There’s so much history to it. The fact that they brought it back is a dream come true for a lot of those guys. We kinda want a Queen of the Ring. If you guys could make that happen, I would love that.”

To be honest, this thought hit me last night, watching the women on the stag with the King of the Ring throne and realizing they didn’t have the same opportunity.

Then again, I’d be totally happy if the royalty-themed tournament returned as the old PPV, too.
