UFC 239: Jan Blachowicz Bombs Out Luke Rockhold
Jan Blachowicz violently spoiled Luke Rockhold's much discussed light-heavyweight debut tonight at UFC 239.
Luke Rockhold’s plans to secure a shot at the light-heavyweight title were punted at UFC 239 tonight, as Jan Blachowicz bombed out the former middleweight champ.
Rockhold came out winging kicks, and moments later, he shot in. Blachowicz defended, however, and a prolonged clinch battle ensued. Blachowicz responded with a nice elbow from the clinch, and eventually, they resumed striking. Rockhold missed with a high kick and ate a counter right moments later. Right as the final horn for the round went, however, Blachowicz fired a high kick that scored a flash knockdown.
Rockhold came out aggressively in round two, and more clinch work followed. As Blachowicz broke free, he dropped Rockhold with a booming uppercut and then finished the deal with punches from above. Huge win for Blachowicz.
