Robin Williams’ Youngest Son, Cody Williams, Gets Married On Dad’s Birthday

To honor his father, Robin Williams’ youngest son Cody Williams just married on what would have been his dad’s 68th birthday. It’s been almost five years since the legendary comedian passed away. While the beloved actor and comedian is missed by millions of fans all over the globe, nobody misses Williams more than his own family.

Yahoo News reports that Williams’ daughter Zelda just revealed why her brother Cody decided to get married on July 21. Williams’ youngest son chose to honor their father on his birthday. Sister Zelda shared photos of the wedding on Instagram that show her older brother Zak and Cody’s bride, Maria Flores Williams.

In an emotional post, Zelda opened up about the deep significance of this date. Not only had the tragic 2014 death of her father “begun to usurp the joy” of July 21, but it is also the date of the first moon landing and the birthday of her good friend, actress Juno Temple. Zelda also revealed that July 21 was not only the day her father was born, but also the last day she got to see him.

Zak Williams Honors His Dad After His Child’s Birth

This is just the latest piece of happy news to grace the Williams family. Two months ago, the late comedian’s son Zak welcomed his first child. The sweet baby boy is named McLaurin Clement Williams in honor of his famous grandfather, Robin McLaurin Williams.

Williams shared a close bond with his three children before he tragically committed suicide in 2014. His son Zak later opened up about his own feelings of regret at not realizing just how much his father was struggling at the end.

“I’m kicking myself for not visiting him during that time,” Zak said of his father’s final days. “Because I think that was a very lonely period for him. In retrospect, I feel like I should have been there, spending time with him. Because someone who needs support was not getting the support he needed.”

While Williams death still feels fresh and raw to the millions of fans who love him, it’s nice to see that his children are doing everything they can to honor his legacy. We’re sure that Williams would be very proud of each of them!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
