Monday Night Raw (7/1/2019)

Monday Night Raw (7/1/2019): 8 pm EST

Falls Count Anywhere Match: Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Lashley

They battle all over the set, until Strowman ends up body checking Lashley through the stage LED boards. A series of explosions go off and Corey Graves lets slip a “Holy sh-t” on commentary. After the explosions stop, the crowd chants “This is awesome!” Officials tend to both men, who are laid out among the debris. The camera assumes a random stationary position, to try and express a sense of the preceding events being an unplanned accident. Officials can be seen dealing with the wreckage, as it cuts to commercial.

Both men end up getting taken away on stretchers.

Tag Team Match: New Day vs. The Viking Raiders

Samoa Joe ends up running in and choking out Xavier Woods, causing a disqualification.

Disqualification

WWE Champ Kofi Kingston ends up running out to help his New Day brethren. Joe and the Viking Raiders team up and dish out a beating on him. Commercial break.

6-Man Tag Team Match: New Day (with Kofi) vs. The Viking Raiders & Samoa Joe

Joe chokes Kofi unconscious with a Coquina Clutch.

Winners: The Viking Raiders & Samoa Joe

AJ Styles and Gallows & Anderson do a segment together. Karl Anderson bets his “hot asian wife” that Styles will not be able to beat Ricochet for the United States Championship.

Cesaro and No Way Jose are scheduled to have a match. 24/7 Champ R-Truth runs through the set, being chased by people, and causes a big commotion. Cesaro ends up battering Joe ruthlessly before any official match can get started.

NXT Tag Champs The Street Profits cut a promo and say they are now on Monday Night Raw.

The Miz cuts a promo on Shane McMahon and Elias.

Shane McMahon comes out to the ring with Drew McIntyre. Shane admits that Undertaker surprised them when he showed up last week. McIntyre says they are going to exterminate the legacy of Taker at Extreme Rules. Suddenly, the lights go funky and then the place goes dark. Lightning bolts shoot down from the ceiling and hit the ring posts. Then the gong hits, and Taker makes his entrance. The crowd cheers loudly. Shane and McIntyre slip over the barricade into the crowd as Taker takes the ring and stares them down.

Taker says Reigns never asked for him help; that’s not who he is. But Taker must need to remind Shane and McIntyre of who he is. He has been the reaper of souls for a long time, and he’s there to collect their souls. But he will make their souls suffer for all eternity, and they will never “Rest in peace.” Shane and McIntyre stare back intensely as Taker’s music plays. Shane and McIntyre take their leave, looking mildly anxious.

Singles Match: Lacey Evans (with Baron Corbin) vs. Natalya

Corbin ends up tripping Natalya when the ref isn’t looking. Evans capitalizes with a Woman’s Right for the 3-count.

Winner: Lacey Evans

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson tell Styles he’s lost a step, and that the old Styles would have slapped Ricochet in the face and accepted the challenge for the title. Styles ends up storming after Ricochet, challenging him for the title tonight, and slapping him in the face. Ricochet accepts, and returns the slap in the face. Styles looks like he’s about to hit Ricochet, but he holds off and says “This is gunna be good.”

2-out-of-3 Falls Match: Elias vs. The Miz

Miz gets the first fall and Elias gets the second. Elias goes for a jumping knee and misses, cracking his knee hard off the ring post. Miz slaps on a Figure-4 Leg Lock and Elias is forced to tap.

Winner: The Miz

Universal Champ Seth Rollins and Raw Women’s Champ Becky Lynch have a match with Maria Kanellis and Mike Kanellis. Maria ends up berating Mike Kanellis and emasculating him. She says he’s not man enough to get her pregnant and she can’t believe he’s the father of her child.

Paul Heyman cuts a promo, which gets interrupted by the Street Profits.

Alexa Bliss comes out for A Moment Of Bliss. Her guest tonight is Nikki Cross, who won Bliss a title shot last week. Bliss congratulates Cross on her accomplishment. Cross says she never could have done it without Bliss’ guidance. Bliss says this moment is about Cross. Carmella’s music hits and she skips out. Mella says if Cross beat Bayley, why is Bliss getting the title shot? Bliss accuses Mella of trying to ruin Cross’ moment of bliss. Mella ends up challenging Bliss to a match.

Singles Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Carmella

Mella gets the quick roll-up victory.

Winner: Carmella

Bliss is shown yelling at Cross after her loss.

Singles Match: Nikki Cross vs. Carmella

Cross beats Mella clean, doing what Bliss could not.

Winner: Nikki Cross

Bliss has a big grin as she talks trash at the supine Carmella, and then she enthusiastically celebrates with Cross.

United States Championship Match: Ricochet (c) vs. AJ Styles

Styles scores a pinfall but Ricochet’s leg was under the rope, so the match is restarted. Gallows and Anderson come to ringside to watch. Ricochet ends up catching Styles with a surprise pin and retains his title.

Winner: Ricochet (c)

After the match, Styles ends up attacking Ricochet and Gallows and Anderson join in the beating. Ricochet gets hit with a Magic Killer and then a Styles Clash off the second rope. The Club is back together.
