UFC Greenville will no longer see John Lineker throwing his “hands of stone”, as the bantamweight contender has been forced out of the co-headliner with Rob Font.

MMA Junkie was the first to report that Lineker has withdrawn from the event. Since then, MMA Fighting has reported that Lineker’s manager, Alex Davis, confirmed that the Brazilian incurred a cut over his eyebrow on Thursday night.

So, this is clearly a big loss for the event, which, doesn’t have many well-known fighters competing.

Lineker was stepping in for Cody Stamann, who had to drop out of the contest due to injury approximately three weeks ago. The heavy-handed Lineker (31-9) is coming off a split decision loss to Cory Sandhagen in April.

UFC Greenville will be headlined by a featherweight bout between Chan Sung Jung and Renato “Moicano”.
