If you were excited for UFC 238, even before the Donald Cerrone – Tony Ferguson bout was added to the line-up, well, the latter doesn’t get it.

For some time, we’ve known that Saturday’s event will see flyweight champ Henry Cejudo challenge Marlon Moraes for the vacant bantamweight belt. In addition, women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will take on Jessica Eye.

Although the card features two title fights, more recently the UFC added the bout between Ferguson and Cerrone. The news seemed to buzz the MMA world, due to the fact it features two of the planet’s best lightweights, and two fighters who bring it.

Well, while speaking to the media this week about his return, Ferguson had this to say about the line-up for UFC 238, champ Khabib Nurmagomedov and former champ, Conor McGregor (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“I think they should have put my picture on the poster, for one,” he said. “This is disappointing to see, for two. This has been the first time I haven’t been the main event or co-main event for a very long (expletive) time. I made it a point as soon as I got in the UFC to say I’m not ever going to go backward.

“You guys can call it what you want, man. This card sucked. I’ll be straight up. I didn’t (expletive) pay attention to anybody who was on this card. I don’t give two (expletive) about the people at the top. The only people I care about right now are Conor and ‘tiramisu’ (Khabib Nurmagomedov). If those two (expletive) don’t have no balls to be able sign on the dotted line, and the only person that did was ‘Cowboy.’”

How about that? Now, chances are the headliners for UFC 238 and their supporters might not care for these comments, and they are two compelling bouts. Especially the Cejudo – Moraes tilt, which could leave Cejudo with two belts. But, is it safe to say the masses are likely most stoked for Cerrone – Cejudo? Ya. Probably.

All this aside, it’s going to be really interesting to see how Ferguson performs. If “El Cucuy” defeats “Cowboy”, then a showdown with the winner of the September 7th, Nurmagomedov – Dustin Poirier has to be next…right?

UFC 238 will be hosted by the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The main card will also feature a pivotal bantamweight fight between Jimmie Rivera and Petr Yan, and a heavyweight clas between Blagoy Ivanov and Tai Tuivasa.
