UFC 239 will no longer feature Sean O’Malley in action, as the bantamweight’s announced he’s been temporarily suspended by the Nevada Commission.

Recently the 24-year-old shared out the statement below, in which O’Malley announced he’s been yanked from UFC 239, after reportedly testing positive for a small amount of Ostarine. That’s the same banned substance O’Malley tested positive for last year. But, the levels of Ostarine in his system were consistent with what’s delivered via contaminated supplements. As a result, “Sugar” received a reduced suspension of six months.

So, this is unfortunate news, as O’Malley – Marlon Vera was a very intriguing fight. Hopefully all this gets sorted out quickly with the Nevada Commission. O’Malley hasn’t fought now since March, 2018, when he defeated Andre Soukhamthath by decision.

The July 6th, UFC 239 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event, light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones will take on Thiago Santos.
