Matt Riddle’s NXT Future, AEW To Feature Blood & Cursing?

One of the biggest stars currently in NXT is Matt Riddle and fans are wondering when he will join the main roster. Also, will AEW have blood and cursing?

– Matt Riddle appears to be one of the brightest prospects currently in NXT and there is a decent chance he could be holding gold before joining the main roster. But, do not look for the former UFC fighter to be heading to the main roster in the near future.

During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how WWE wants to keep Riddle in NXT as there is no rush for him to join the main roster. WWE sees lots of potential in him and they simply want to make him a major star in NXT before he heads to RAW or SmackDown. It sounds similar to how Finn Balor spent an extensive amount of time in NXT before getting a huge push right out of gate on RAW.

Riddle was in the crowd at Takeover Brooklyn IV last August and then won his Takeover in-ring debut in October by defeating Kassius Ohno in seconds a few months later. His undefeated steak was finally broken at Takeover New York, when he lost to North American Champion Velveteen Dream. We will have to see if he works Takeover Toronto as the tapings were not clear if Riddle will compete.

As for the NXT call ups to main roster, champions Shayna Baszler and Adam Cole seem to be next.

– All Elite Wrestling (AEW) delivered a memorable show at Double Or Nothing and tickets for All Out were gone in 15 minutes, so the promotion is doing something right. Plus, many WWE superstars are already looking forward for the chance to sign with the upstart promotion.

As we get closer to AEW airing on TNT in October, there will be one notable difference. Fightful spoke to AEW’s Jimmy Havoc, who stated that the promotion will be focusing on less blood and cursing on their product.

We are still not sure what parental rating AEW will have, but they seem to be somewhere in PG 13 area if they avoid blood and swearing. We should learn more about the format AEW will take as they begin to hype their debut on national TV in the coming months.
