Coach Reports Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Camp For Dustin Poirier Fight is on Deck

Nothing has been announced yet, but increasingly it looks like Khabib Nurmagomedov’s next bout will indeed be against Dustin Poirier, September 7th.

Since Poirier won the interim lightweight title in April by defeating Max Holloway, the expectation has been that he’ll face the champ Nurmagomedov next. More recently there’s been extensive talk that the bout could go down at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi.

Well, speaking of UFC 242, recently Khabib’s longtime striking coach Javier Mendez posted the comment below:

Despite all the talk about Khabib – Poirier, there’s still been some debate as to whether this bout will in fact go down. But, as noted above, increasingly it looks like the unification fight will take place sooner than later.
