Tony Ferguson has been in Las Vegas meeting with UFC officials, and it looks like we could see “El Cucuy” back in the cage sooner than later. Not only that, but the former interim lightweight champ shared out a trailer to promote his return, and it’s of the must-see variety.
As you likely know, Ferguson was in the news earlier this year when it was reported his wife had filed for a temporary, restraining order against him. According to reports, Ferguson had allegedly been acting erratically and authorities had been called to their home.
But, the legal proceeding was eventually dropped since Ferguson sought out help, and more recently he announced he had passed his medical evaluation.
Well, ESPN’s Brett Okamoto recently reported the following, regarding Ferguson’s meetings with the UFC.
Tony Ferguson and his new management, Ballengee Group, met with UFC brass in Las Vegas today. I’m told meeting went well, no fight agreed upon yet. But it’s possible things move quite fast from here. Tony is excited to fight, UFC excited to have him back.

So, while we continue to play the waiting game, in terms of what’s next for Ferguson, it certainly looks like we could learn more very soon.
