The UFC’s June 29th card in Minneapolis recently lost its original headliner between Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley. But, it looks like the upcoming card has a new main event, of the heavyweight variety.

Lawler – Woodley II was originally set to headline the Minnesota card, but recently Woodley bowed out due to a hand injury.  Sources have informed ESPN that agreements are nearly finalized, which would move dos Santos vs. Ngannou from the July 6th, UFC 239 card to the June 29th event. The heavyweight title would then serve as the new main event for UFC Minneapolis.

Dos Santos (21-5) will be looking to extend his winning streak to four, while Ngannou (13-3) will be in search of his third straight victory.

It still remains to be seen what will come next for Lawler, but it appears as though he’ll no longer be fighting at the June 29th event.

The line-up for UFC 239 still remains strong, if in fact, dos Santos – Ngannou gets moved. The card will feature light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones taking on Thiago Santos, Amanda Nunes defending the bantamweight belt versus Holly Holm, and a bout between welterweight contenders, Ben Askren and Jorge Masvidal.
