George Clooney Fears for His Families’ Lives As Wife Takes on ISIS in Court!

Actor George Clooney — who produced, directed and stars in the upcoming screen adaptation of Joseph Heller’s novel Catch-22 — is opening up about the real safety concerns he and his human rights attorney wife, Amal, face with their children as she takes ISIS to court in France.

“We have real security issues on a daily basis,” the 58-year-old said in a recent podcast interview. “We don’t want our kids to be targets, so we have to pay attention.”

However, Clooney’s characteristic optimism had the human rights activist actor/director expressing gratitude for his blessings and the fact that he has “a pretty good life. I have a beautiful wife and two beautiful kids. … [But] there are things you miss. I miss being able to walk with our kids in Central Park.”

George and Amal decided to live safer lives before having kids.

Amal Clooney has taken on sex traffickers and ISIS before and her marriage to George Clooney makes her and their family a high-profile target for any radical terrorist or group to gain notoriety. Indeed, author Salman Rushdie has been living with a fatwa on his life for decades because he took on Islam in his book “The Satanic Verses.”

While Amal is still taking on cases that could potentially mean someone tries to track down her and her family, both she and George Clooney decided before their almost-2-year-old twins were born to stop intentionally going into dangerous situations.

“We decided to be much more responsible, to avoid the danger,” George Clooney said in a 2017 interview. “I will not go to South Sudan anymore and/or the Congo [and] Amal will no longer go to Iraq and she will avoid places where she knows she is not welcome.”

“How can we not be anxious when faced with this immense responsibility? To give birth to a child in this world – never mind two! We are very happy, very excited, but also a bit nervous, it’s normal.”

Despite such intentional safety measures, it’s an awful thing to realize that just by simply standing up in court, away from the dangers of a war zone, can still put one’s life and loved ones at risk and cause one to change the way they live their life.
