Jussie Smollett might have thought that he was getting off scot-free when Chicago prosecutors controversially dropped all charges against him, but he’s since learned that he was dead wrong after he was hit with yet another lawsuit.

AOL reported that Ola and Abel Osundairo have just filed a lawsuit against Smollett’s defense team for falsely accusing them of carrying out a hate crime against the “Empire” star. Chicago police have said from the beginning that Smollett actually paid the Osundairo brothers to launch the attack against him and to hurl racist and homophobic slurs at him as they did it. The two brothers were also allegedly instructed to yell “this is MAGA country” as they assaulted Smollett.

“Defendants made these comments knowing they were untrue to distract from Mr. Smollett’s farce and to promote themselves and the Geragos & Geragos Law Firm,” the lawsuit stated. “Statements indicating Plaintiffs actually criminally battered Mr. Smollett without his consent are patently false and defamatory, as Mr. Smollett originated, planned, and orchestrated the attack.”

Though the lawsuit was filed against Smollett’s lawyers Mark Geragos and Tina Glandian, it will only make things worse for the actor as it offers the public the chance to see more proof that he staged the attack against himself.

This also comes as the city of Chicago has filed a civil lawsuit against Smollett after he refused to pay them the $130,000 in investigative costs that they spent on his case.

If you’re anything like me, you were infuriated and sickened when Chicago prosecutors dropped all charges against Smollett, so it’s nice to see that karma is still coming back to bite him. If we can’t see him behind bars, the next best thing is for Smollett to have to pay for what he did financially and by putting him through the ringer time and time again in various court battles. Jussie Smollett made his bed, and now he is going to have to lie in it.
