Conor McGregor

When Conor McGregor recently announced he was retiring from fighting, the consensus was that we’d see the controversial fighter back in the cage, and it looks like that prediction was right.

After McGregor made his retirement announcement, many observers speculated his decision was tied to ongoing negotiations with the UFC, in which he’s asked for shares in the company. Dana White, however, has said that’s not going to happen.

Well, since then, McGregor has remained in the news as a result of a nasty and escalating social media feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov, which prompted White and the UFC to intervene.

Now, following all this, the Irish star and former champ posted this statement:

I want to move forward, with my fans of all faiths and all backgrounds.
All faiths challenge us to be our best selves.
It is one world and one for all ❤️
Now see you in the Octagon.

So, there you have it. The comments about “faiths and all backgrounds” is clearly a response to the backlash McGregor faced, as a result of a tweet he reportedly made about Nurmagomedov’s wife.  Of course, it remains to be seen if McGregor reaches a new deal with the UFC and who he’ll fight. But it certainly looks like the “Notorious” intends to throw hands under the promotion’s banner again.

McGregor also announced in 2016 that he was retiring from fighting.
