According to a report by ESPN, Bellator will head to Madison Square Garden this summer with Chael Sonnen vs. Lyoto Machida part of the fight card.
The event would take place June 14 from one of the world’s most famous arenas in New York City. The fight was previously confirmed without a date or location at that time.
Sonnen suffered a loss to Fedor Emelianenko in the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix semifinals. The former UFC title contender is 31-16 with a no-contest in his career.
Machida, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, topped Rafael Carvalho this past December via split decision in his debut with Bellator.
Sonnen fought in the main event of the first Bellator event at Madison Square Garden back in 2017 vs. Wanderlei Silva.
