As this is being written, nothing official has been announced yet, but it all signs are pointing to a Demian Maia – Rocco Martin bout going down in June.

Following an initial report from Combate, MMA Fighting is reporting that the UFC is planning to have the welterweights fight on June 29th, at the promotion’s card in Minneapolis.

Maia (26-9) is coming off a quick, submission win over Lyman Good in February, which snapped the grappling titan’s three-fight losing skid (which was against former or current champs in Tyron Woodley, Colby Covington (interim) and Kamaru Usman).

Martin (16-4) has been steadily climbing the 170 ranks after moving up from 155, thanks to a four-fight winning streak. In his last bout, which went down in March, Martin earned a decision win over Sergio Moraes.

So, this would be a nice addition to UFC Minneapolis. If Martin can win, he’d almost certainly jump into the stacked, top 15 of the welterweight division.

Here is the line-up so far for the upcoming card in Minnesota.

Tyron Woodley vs. Robbie Lawler

Jussier Formiga vs. Joseph Benavidez

Chas Skelly vs. Jordan Griffin

Drew Dober vs. Marco Polo Reyes

Roman Dolidze vs. Vinicius Moreira

Maurice Greene vs. Junior Albini
