WM 35 Main Event “Winner Takes All”; Huge ‘Mania Match In The Works For 2020

– The Internet exploded this past Tuesday night, when Charlotte Flair defeated SmackDown LIVE champion Asuka to become the new Queen of the blue brand, and a historic eight-time WWE women’s title holder. While the WWE Universe was expecting to see a fatal four-way number one contender’s bout for a chance at Asuka and her gold at Wrestlemania 35 between Naomi, Carmella, Sonay DeVille, and Mandy Rose; those plans were ditched at the last minute.

This has many people wondering what will happen at WM, and what this means for the main event. Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer chimed in on the situation, stating the angle around the bout will now change to a ‘Winner Takes All”, meaning that the victor of the match could walk away with two titles when all is said and done. Will it be Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, or Charlotte Flair? Only time will tell …

– Speaking of Wrestlemania’s main event, while we are just over a week away from WWE’s flagship pay-per-view, it seems the company is already plugging away at an idea for next year’s Grand Stage. Having said that, the WWE Universe won’t be privy to what’s going on until the main event comes to a close.

As per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the plans seem to be centered on the outcome of the main event, which will offer a clear indication of where Wrestlemania 36 is heading.

This truly could mean a multitude of things, from Ronda Rousey losing her title and returning one year later for revenge on Becky Lynch, or potentially another huge build up to a Lynch versus Charlotte Flair bout. It’s also very possible the powers that be want to see Rousey versus Flair, as that match was in the works for the longest time for this year’s Wrestlemania until The Man shook things up in the WWE.

Having said all that, Vince McMahon changes his mind all the time; not to mention the fact that landscape within the WWE often sails in different directions. Injuries come into play, and fans reactions to superstars; one only has to point to the recent momentum of both Becky Lynch and Kofi Kingston to see that things can get crazy within that squared circle, with programs and plans change accordingly as such.

With a full year between WM 35 and WM 36, really anything can happen, and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if a plan in the works now, drastically changes in early 2020.
