The UFC no longer has a bantamweight champion, as T.J. Dillashaw’s announced he’s dropping the title after reporting that a drug test he took had an “adverse finding”. In addition, the now former champ has reportedly been hit with a one-year suspension from the New York State Athletic Commission.

Dillashaw recently announced he’s relinquishing the belt via Instagram:

As noted above, it’s also being reported the NYSAC has confirmed Dillashaw has been suspended for a year and fined $10,000, for “violations” related to a “prohibited substance”. It’s also possible that USADA could suspend Dillashaw but as this is being written, the organization has commented on Dillashaw’s situation.

Dillashaw is coming off a quick, stoppage loss to flyweight champ Henry Cejudo on January 19th. The fight took place in Brooklyn, New York. Dillashaw’s one-year suspension is retroactive to that date.
