ONE “A New Era” Primer: Eddie Alvarez Reflects on Fighting in Japan, Winning Dream’s GP

Eddie Alvarez has headed to Japan to make his promotional debut for ONE Championship, and the star will be hoping to duplicate the success he’s had competing there before.

The former UFC and Bellator lightweight champ competed in Dream’s lightweight grand prix ten years ago, which went down in the Asian nation. Alvarez went on to defeat Andre “Dida”, Joachim Hansen and Tatsuya Kawajiri en route to winning the GP.

Recently ONE posted the video below, which features Alvarez reflecting on the success he’s had fighting in Japan. At ONE’s “A New Era” on Sunday, Alvarez will face Timofey Nastyukhin in the opening round of ONE’s lightweight grand prix.
