Daniel Cormier

Brock Lesnar vs. Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier seemed set following their confrontation at UFC 226. Although, nothing has materialized and there is no word if Lesnar will return to the UFC, re-sign with WWE or a combination of both. Cormier spoke to ESPN about the potential fight; dropping a hint he might invade WrestleMania 35.

“You know I don’t have a fight exactly scheduled yet,” said Cormier to ESPN. “But I got my eyes on Brock Lesnar. I may go to the WWE’s WrestleMania and I may cost him his title over there; so, he can hurry up and get to the UFC so I can beat him here.”

Cormier planned to retire by his 40th birthday, which was days ago, but that has been delayed due to lingering injuries. Still, Cormier’s next fight should be his retirement bout. At one point, WWE planned to speak with Cormier about joining their promotion. That might still be an option and would increase the odds of Cormier getting involved at WrestleMania 35’s Seth Rollins vs Lesnar match.

– A pair of NXT superstars have asked for their release. Stacey Ervin Jr. and Ricardo Miller have yet to be granted their request by WWE, but they are not expected to return.

Ervin is a former gymnast who signed with WWE in 2018 and made his in-ring debut in September of the same year. He worked the January tapings, teaming with Humberto Carrillo in a losing effort to The Street Profits.

He has received positive reviews by officials, but recently underwent a concussion scare. It was reported that the concussion made Ervin doublethink a wrestling career. He has already changed his social media accounts and they no longer reflect WWE.

Miller recently joined the WWE Performance Center within the past few months. The former football plater was picking up things at a decent pace, so his reason for wanting out is not known.
