Combate Americas announced that it has signed world flyweight (125 pounds) Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) champion Daniel Barez (10-4) to an exclusive, multi-fight promotional agreement.
The 30-year-old Barez of Valencia, Spain will make his debut in La Jaula, the Combate Americas cage, against Ivan Flores Hernandez (10-2-1) of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mex. on Friday, April 12 at the “Combate Estrellas” event in Monterrey that will officially be announced soon.
“The addition of Daniel Barez, one of the best and most exciting flyweights in the world, yet again reinforces Combate Americas’ commitment to Spain, and to furthering our position as a market leader in the country based on our dominant television ratings there,” said Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren.
Barez, who holds the BAMMA world flyweight title, is riding a four-fight win streak that extended on January 26 when he submitted Adamson Torbiso with a triangle choke in the first round of action.
To date, Barez has notched 8 of his 10 professional career victories by way of (T)KO or submission.
