Chris Jericho: 'I Am Banned From WWE'

– Chris Jericho’s first major presence in the Unites States came from ECW and WCW. Then he joined WWE in 1999 and worked off and on until 2018. During that time, Jericho become one of the most popular superstars and holds several accolades that will make him a surefire WWE Hall of Famer down the road. While Jericho might still talk to Vince McMahon, it also seems like he has been blacklisted by WWE since signing with All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

“I’ve talked with him a couple of times but I’m kind of public enemy number 1 there now,” said Jericho on his Talk Is Jericho podcast. “I’ve been kind of removed from the annals of history. I asked the other day if I could have a couple of their guys on my podcast to promote Mania and I was told ‘no, it’s not appropriate because you’re in AEW.’ I am banned from WWE.”

On top of that, Jericho has been removed from Xavier Wood’s Popular YouTube channel UpUpDownDown and also the Edge and Christian Show. He was removed from WWE’s opening graphic once news broke that signed with AEW. As for the AEW deal, Jericho has called it the best contract he ever signed. It is multi-year deal that will allow Jericho to work in other promotions such as New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Jericho loves to work fans, but he seemed serious during his podcast. Time will tell how much truth there is to Jericho’s story.

– When SmackDown moves to Friday nights on Fox starting October 4, except to see some changes such as the sports world crosses into the wrestling business. During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how WWE is thinking about making the show three hours.

The move would allow WWE to earn an additional $50,000,000 per year on their current contact. The idea is for the first two hours to run on Fox from 8-10 and then 10-11 on Fox Sports 1. This would help Fox fill the void when the UFC recently switched over to ESPN.

If SmackDown becomes three hours, there is no word on the future of 205 Live.
