Brandon Girtz and Saad Awad went to battle for three rounds and 15 minutes in the main event of Bellator 219 Friday night, with Girtz scoring the unanimous decision victory.

The bout aired live on Paramount Network and streamed on DAZN.

Girtz improved to 16-8 overall in his career with the victory, improving to 2-1 over his last three fights. For Awad, the loss was his second straight after winning four in a row.

Former champion Daniel Straus claimed a first round submission over Shane Kruchten, locking up a rear-naked choke less than four minutes into battle. Also, former champion Andrey Koreshkov bested Michael Jasper and Joe Schilling topped Keith Berry to complete the main card.

Prelim winners included Joey Davis, who knocked out Marcus Anthony in the first round, David Rickels, who finished A.J. Matthews, and Shawn Bunch, who downed Dominic Mazzzotta.
